Happy 58th Mom!
These little boys are taking over!

Last Wednesday, August 25th, Kingston and Mason met for the very first time and became instant best friends. We took tons of pictures of the boys while they slept through this big moment. It’s funny how big Kingston looked compared to Mason, we’re so used to Kingston being the small baby in the group. Mason loves his cousin and already felt completely comfortable with him, resting his head on Kingston’s shoulder, how stinking cute is that? Kingston also took his turn resting his head on someone’s shoulder, he’s already a fan of Aunt Steph and wanted some cuddle time.
I think it’s cool that they are only 2.5 months apart and know they are going to have so much fun growing up together!
On Friday the 20th, our nephew was born (see this post) and I couldn’t wait until I got off work to go see him. Kids aren’t usually allowed in the maternity ward and I didn’t want to take Kingston in the hospital anyway, so a co-worker generously stayed at work an hour late so that Jeremy and I could run across the street to the hospital and meet Mason. We spent an hour holding him and staring into his sweet face.
After two days at South Seminole Hospital being induced (his due date was August 13th and the Dr. wanted him out), he arrived at 1:10 a.m. via C-section. Mason had a big red circle on his head from where they had to pull him out by a vacuum. Poor baby! Thank goodness we don’t remember being born.

We’re excited to have Mason as a new addition to our family! He is precious!

Congrats to Arthur (Jen’s brother) and Stephanie for the birth of their son (Kingston’s cousin) Mason Avery Kasas Boothe this morning at around 1:10am! He weighed in at 8lbs 3oz and was 21in long. We’ll have more details and pictures when we get to meet him later on today and hear their birth story.
We spent some time with my family Friday night, Aug. 6th, celebrating my dad’s 61st birthday. We got take out from Olive Garden and enjoyed dinner at my grandparents’ house (grandma just had gallbladder surgery and is still recovering).

Happy Birthday Dad!

We dropped Kingston off at the babysitter’s (a.k.a. Grandma’s) for the first time on Wednesday night and went out as just the two of us. You might expect we took this opportunity to go out to dinner, perhaps see a movie. You would be wrong. We went to exercise. We’re true romantics.
I never quite hit my goal of doing yoga while I was pregnant, so I’m trying to make up for it now. Since I missed my 6 week appointment, I’m assuming I’m okay to start exercising again. We decided this week we would try out the free yoga/pilates class a local gym offers. It wasn’t as good as the old yoga instructor we had a couple years ago, but it was free and worked our muscles so I think we’re going to continue trying to go. Anyone ever interested in joining us, let me know.
After, we took advantage of our brief freedom and ran in to Target to get some groceries, before picking up the little squirt. See I told you, we’re super romantic ; )
My parents had a little family cookout at their house on Saturday night so we could all enjoy dinner with my aunt and cousin before they relocate to Texas where my uncle got a new job. This was also Kingston’s first time visiting since he was born. He saw his little nursery there and he met their dog, Sydney, who wasn’t too sure about the new baby.

My parents have a pool and we took this opportunity to see if Kingston loves the water as much as we do. You can see in his face he wasn’t sure what we were subjecting him to, but he rolled with it. In fact he become so relaxed while I was capturing this video, that he let one rip! He was busted by the telltale bubbles : ) Glad I was filming, that’s a keeper.
As we were finishing dinner my other cousin, Mimi, stopped by to meet Kingston. She was in the neighborhood, saw our car, and knew the baby must be inside.

We hung out for a bit and then said our goodbyes to Denise and Brittany, not knowing when we’ll get to see them again. We’re going to miss having them nearby. Why is all our family moving to far off states? Guess we’re going to have to introduce Kingston to planes once we feel up to traveling.

“Hi Grandma Terri! It’s been a busy week, lots of eating, sleeping and pooping. You know the usual. Alright gotta run (you know figuratively, I still can’t move from where I’m set down), time to eat (and then poop and sleep). Just wanted to say Hi. Love you!” —Kingston
This little boy sure is loved. The gifts just keep rolling in for him.

On Monday a package arrived from Uncle Josh and Aunt Elisa with some cute outfits, a pacifier clip, and a musical giraffe. When the music plays the giraffe’s head moves. At first I thought the head was just moving as I set it down and it was settling, then the head started to raise and freaked me out for a second. Haha.

On Tuesday another package arrived, this time from our friends the Giffords. Allison found some cute skull fabric (can I use cute and skull in the same sentence?) and made Kingston two onesies, a burp cloth, and a bib. I think my favorite piece is the onesie with the tie. Our friends are so creative.
Thank you Josh, Elisa, Eric, Allison, Gavin, Nolen, and soon to be born baby boy Gifford!
This weekend both Kingston’s uncles came by to meet him.
Uncle Arthur (my brother) came by on Friday to say hi. He was a little hesitant to hold Kingston since the last time he held a baby the diaper leaked all over him. Kingston saves those kind of accidents just for mom and dad, so Arthur was in the clear.

Uncle Josh (Jeremy’s brother) was in town for business so he came over to hang out on Saturday. Jeremy brought Kingston out and said “This is your Uncle Josh.” Kingston replied by spitting up. We don’t believe this is a direct reflection of his feelings towards Uncle Josh, but only time will really tell ; P
While Josh and Jeremy worked on some projects around the house, Kingston and I chilled on the couch.

All the sitting around watching the guys work wore us out, so we took a little nap.

After our exhausting day, it was time for dinner. We decided to hit Delano’s for our first dinner out with Kingston, since it’s small and close to home. Kingston was on his best behavior and slept through most of dinner. We ran into Hemarie’s mom while we were there so she had the chance to meet Kingston.
A little after dinner we stopped by Alan and Gina’s since Josh hadn’t had a chance to see their house yet. Alan’s brother, Kellon, and his fiancé, Jacquelyn, were in town so the guys played some cornhole in the backyard while the girls hung out inside. Then eventually we all ended up on the floor surrounding Kingston. He’s quite the entertainer, you know all that laying around and staring, it’s quite thrilling ; )

Friday night, Kingston’s Great Aunt Sue and Uncle Bruce came to meet him.
Over the last week, we’ve received even more gifts for Kingston. Thanks so much to all the family and friends from around the country who continue to send gifts and gift cards our way.
From Denise and Arjen Van de Voorde
From Jeremy’s Uncle Bill and Liz Kennedy
From Michelle and Gene Fuller and David and Devonna Rhea
From Lucy and Larry Stewart
Thanks again!

For my first Father’s Day Jen had a card written from Kingston and dressed him in this cool H&M onesie that said “I Heart Dad”. We had a lazy morning until my parents came over for lunch and my dad’s favorite dessert, Key Lime Pie. It’s the first Father’s Day in years that I’ve been able to spend it with my dad, so it was cool to have him here. They hung out for a few hours and got as much Kingston time as they could before leaving for home in the early afternoon.

We napped in the afternoon before Jen’s family came over for dinner and dessert. Jen’s aunt Denise and cousin Brittney were in town and haven’t had a chance to meet Kingston yet, so they tried holding him when they could pry him from Grandma Bev. This was a cool Father’s Day because Kingston had a great-grandpa and grandpa there. We hung out, had some dinner and afterwards some cookie cake and cupcakes. All in all it was a pretty good first Father’s Day, keeping it simple and low-key at the house.

My parents came into town late Thursday night and couldn’t resist a little tummy time with their first grandson Kingston. We all had some fun times hanging out and catching up while rolling around on Kingston’s cushy carpet.

We are very grateful for the friends and family that have been sending gifts and bringing meals.
